Union County Loaves & Fishes :
Marsvhille Presbyterian is excited to be able to collect and donate food and other needs to Loaves & Fishes each week to help families in the Union County community. Loaves and Fishes of Union County is a volunteer community food pantry who distribute food, free of charge to people of Union County, North Carolina and raise contributions of food, supplies, money and facilities. Each month we have a "Food of the Month" announced in the church newsletter. Plastic containers for donation items are located inside the two front entrances to the church. 10-Cents-a-Meal :
On the last Sunday of every month, Marshville Presbyterian dedicates the offerings of that day to the "10-Cents-a-Meal" program. Union County Boys & Girls Club :
Throughout the school year and summer Marshville Presbyterian Church helps bring outside toys/activities, coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, puzzles and other inside activities to help support East Union Middle School and Marshville Elementary. |
Backpack Buddies :
Marshville Presbyterian, along with other churches in the community, currently assist Marshville Elementary School with providing meals to kids who may not have them over the weekend/holiday breaks. We provide 104 snacks each week to the school to help these children/families in need. Items for donation can be placed in the kitchen located in the back of the church. Presbyterian Seniors Knitting Group :
Ladies from Marshville Presbyterian Church and throughout our community come together to knit baby hats. These hats are donated to local hospitals each month. These ladies knit on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. every week, unless otherwise noted, if you would like to come join! The hats knitted in November are purple, to symbolize Shaken Baby Syndrome. In December, we show our holiday spirit by knitting hats in mostly red and white. Last year, in 2018, these ladies knitted 741 baby hats. Way to go ladies! |
